Is it too early to talk about outdoor birthday party venues in Seattle? I don’t think so. Some outdoor venues are already booked, especially for weekends in July & August. Beaches, parks, and zoos are popular outdoor kids birthday party places. Usually we recommend a 90 day advance notice for party venue reservations, but when it comes to outdoor party venues in the summer, Seattle residents need to give it more than 90 days, sometimes even up to 9 months in advance.
Animal-Themed Venues for Outdoor Birthday Parties in Seattle (and nearby)
Animal themed parties are a great reason to plan an outdoor birthday party with real animals. Seattle has plenty of birthday party venues with animals. Here are our favorite:
Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah
Cougar Mountain Zoo is located in Issaquah and their birthday parties include free parking as well as a tour through the zoo with your own personal tour guide. During this tour, the birthday child gets to feed and interact with real zoo animals. The birthday child also gets a return ticket for a zoo visit as well as a gift from the zoo and a free 5×7 photo of the birthday child with real live macaws. Additional options for parties include an outdoor covered picnic pavilion, Tiger Encounter, face painting, adopt-an-animal, engraved paving stones and additional photos. For more photos, scheduling information and party-planning details, call the number in the widget at the bottom of this page.
Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park in Redmond
Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park is located in Redmond, not far from Seattle. They have an indoor party room that holds up to 35 people. Each party comes with an outdoor experience. For 0-12 year olds they recommend the farm tour, for 2-6 year olds they recommend pony rides and for Ages 7-12 they have horse rides. For an additional fee, this venue will also take care of party games, decorations, goody bags, cake & utensils and a themed craft activity. Their parties are only available on weekends and reservations must be made in person at the farm, scroll to the bottom of this page for our database of outdoor animal-themed party venues for their address and more photos.
Bellevue Farm Party Venue
For a similar experience, try Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue. They have trails, a playground, farm animals and offer a 2 hour party plan where kids get to play with and learn about rabbits, goats, chickens, sheep and ponies. In the historic barn, kids enjoy a petting zoo and try their hand at carding wool for their craft activity. The farm room party place is heated for winter parties and provides partiers with a fridge, freezer and microwave for party snacks. Check the widget at the bottom of this page for more photos and scheduling and party planning information for Kelsey Creek Farm.
Bothell Horse Parties
Equine Life Solutions has a party room and several different horse-themed party packages. Their winter horse-themes parties look especially beautiful. This is a working horse farm with horses that train for medieval reenactment shows as well as regular riding lessons and therapeutic horsemanship. The trainers are incredibly sensitive to the needs of the horses as well as the children and will never force a child to ride against their will. Zoo Birthday Parties in Seattle
Seattle kids are lucky to have a few different zoo-type environments to choose from for their birthday parties. With no decent zoo environments in any other area of the state, these zoo parties book up fast but if you have plenty of planning time, your guests will enjoy admission to the zoo, a private party room, carousel rides, and hands-on activities with animals. Each zoo has different offerings and requirements, so be sure to check out Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium or Woodland Park Zoo for availability and benefits. There are also a few more pictures and information at the bottom of this page, in the Gallery of Animal Themed Outdoor Party Places for Kids in Seattle. That’s our database of party planning resources and we chose the ones in this section specifically for animal-themed outdoor venues.
Seattle Aquarium Birthday Parties
The Aquarium in Seattle doesn’t currently offer a party room for birthdays, but they do allow private events (think Corporate pricing, so perhaps a little overboard for a child’s birthday) And they also have group discounts for groups of 20 or more. Pre-registration is required and you’ll have to plan your meal and birthday cake elsewhere (we can help organize that nearby). Since it’s located on the waterfront, there are plenty of other places to enjoy your meal together. There’s also a cafeteria upstairs. I don’t know if they’d frown on bringing cupcakes to the cafeteria, but if all else fails there’s the boardwalk, a public park and a sculpture garden just up the road.
Birthday Parties at Remlinger Farms Country Fair Park
Remlinger Farms is a local favorite for all ages. Their party rooms are popular so plan to schedule at least 6 months in advance. Since it’s a theme park with concession stands, outside food is not allowed. They do have cake, ice cream, pizza, salad and other offerings for birthdays, but if your birthday kid or their guests have dietary restrictions, plan accordingly. Each party room is staffed for cleanup, and comes pre-decorati. Park entrance begins at 10:30am and includes unlimited use of all rides and attractions operating the day of the party. Depending on weather conditions this will include Pony Rides, Steam Train Ride, the Mine Twister Roller Coaster, Farm Animal Barnyard, NW Canoe Ride, Hay Maze & Hay Jump, Carousel, Flying Pumpkins, Spinning Tubs of Fun and the Farm Theater featuring Lolly’s interactive performance. Issaquah Fox Hollow Farm Birthday Parties
Fox Hollow Farm is a huge facility with room for like a thousand people. I’m not sure what kind of children’s party would need that much space, but it’s so pretty and well cared-for that it’s a popular wedding venue too. Children’s birthday parties at Fox Hollow are 2.5 hours long, party shelters are available with no electricity. Guests have access to pony rides, corn bin, ride-on vehicles, farm village playhouses and animal interactions. The photos from this venue are just breathtaking, check out our database gallery at the bottom of this page for more information.
